You may remember Tiffany & Santi from their maternity session. Well, I had a photo shoot today with the newest addition to their family. Little Gabriella's full post will be up soon but I just had to share this one of her "prepping"...
A few weeks ago, I was sitting at Post 390 with Amber and a couple of my other closest friends. The server came out to take our drink orders but instead of asking what we wanted, he asked "who's name starts with M?"
"Umm, mine does?" I said, unsure. He handed me a champagne glass decorated with pink and black polka dots and inscribed with a big "M." My first thought was WHOA this place is fancy - they give everyone their own glass? By this time, my friends "E" and "S" had received similar glasses. We all looked down and noticed what was written on the base...
"will you be my bridesmaid?"
So cute! Of course we all said YES and toasted to Amber & Jeff's upcoming marriage. I can't wait to celebrate with you!
Amber had asked me to do an engagement mini-session so that she and Jeff could get a photo to put in their hometown newspapers. Easy enough, right? HAH. Fast forward to yesterday afternoon... Amber, Jeff and I are running around in the frozen marsh hoping we don't fall through the ice, hiking through the woods and getting stuck in pricker bushes. We took a few breaks to warm up in the car but WOW it was chilly. These are the results of our adventure:

Marc saw this picture and asked me (jokingly) if we went to New Hampshire for the shoot. Hard to believe this was taken in Quincy!
I met up with photographer friend Jen Ing on a warm afternoon in November so we could shoot some scenery around Boston. As we both prefer to shoot people over landscapes, Jen and I ended up taking practice portraits of each other. We walked around the Esplanade for a couple hours before sunset and the light was just gorgeous:
I love to schedule shoots for the late afternoon (or near sunrise, alternatively) and this is why... AMAZING light!

Happy Holidays, everyone! I have this next week off so I am headed to CT to spend some girl time with my mom and sister. I will also be using this time to post some photos that I haven't had a chance to blog and work on some improvements for 2010!

Last Friday, I had the pleasure of photographing a Holiday party for Gentle Giant Moving Company at Anthony's Function Hall in Somerville.
The night honored Gentle Giant Hall-of-Famers past and present:
The Gentle Giant family also celebrated a $100,000 fund raising effort to benefit Brendan Ward. You can read more about Brendan here.

Last Wednesday, I photographed a Holiday party at Salon Acote on Newbury Street.
The Acote stylists entertained their clients and demonstrated some hair and makeup techniques that are great for holiday party prep:
Danielle Chooljian, one of Acote's talented stylists, asked me to photograph the event. Danielle did my friend Sapana's hair at her wedding (and mine too!) and I couldn't have been more impressed. Sapana's half up/half down curls looked gorgeous and stayed in ALL day. I would highly recommend her to future brides.

Last Tuesday I attended a Holiday Gift Party at 6B Lounge hosted by the Young Professionals Preventing Child Abuse (YPPCA). The purpose of the party was to collect toys and raise money for families in need who participate in the many programs offered by the Children's Trust Fund.
My friends Amber and Liz are volunteers for the YPPCA:
They sold raffle tickets while I took photos. I was SO excited to try out my new wide angle lens... the 50mm was definitely not cutting it for crowded situations like this:
Many toys were collected!
